I. Purpose
To promote academic exchange in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy in Taiwan, and to encourage innovation, technical excellence, and clinical experience sharing among young members, the Digestive Endoscopy Society of Taiwan hereby organizes the 2026 Young Award for Best Video.
II. Submission Deadline, Results Announcement and Award Ceremony
- Submission Deadline: May 31, 2026
- Results Announcement: July 10, 2026
- Award Ceremony and Video Screening: July 26, 2026
III. Eligibility

Applicants:
All (including international and domestic) applicants are under 40 years of age as of December 31 of 2026. -
Submission Limit:
Each first author may submit one (1) video only. There is no limit on co-authorship. -
Originality
Submitted videos must be original works and must not have been previously published, presented, or awarded in any formal domestic or international academic setting.
IV. Video Categories
Submission Categories
Video content may include, but is not limited to the following themes:
- Innovative techniques or novel devices
- Advanced therapeutic endoscopy (e.g., ESD, POEM, EUS-guided therapy)
- Interesting, rare, or challenging cases with educational value
- Complication management and troubleshooting strategies
- Training and education (teaching methods, simulation, skill acquisition)
V. Abstract Format Specifications
Abstract Format:
Online abstract Submission, ≤ 500 Words. The abstract must include the following sections: Title, Authors and Affiliations, Background and Aim, Methods / Procedure, Results, Conclusion.
VI. Video Format Specifications

Video Duration
Maximum length: 5 minutes (recommended: 3–5 minutes). - File Format and Technical Requirements: Format: *.avi, *.mov, *.mpg, as well as H264D, mpeg 4, DIVX-4 or AVCHD.
- Resolution: Minimum 1280 × 720 (HD)
- File size: ≤ 350 MB per video
- Language: Narration or subtitles should preferably be in English (Chinese with English subtitles is acceptable).

Videos must clearly present:
Clinical background and indication
Key procedural steps and techniques
Important tips or innovations
Outcomes and learning points
7. Patient Privacy and De-identification
All patient identifiers, including names, identification numbers, medical record numbers, and recognizable images, must be completely removed.
8. Music and Narration
Background music is permitted but must not interfere with narration clarity. Copyrighted music should not be used.
VII. Ethics and Disclosure
Ethical Compliance
Applicants must confirm that appropriate patient consent has been obtained (when applicable) and that the submission complies with medical ethical standards.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
All potential conflicts of interest related to devices, drugs, or commercial sponsorships/support must be fully disclosed.
VIII. Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a designated review committee based on the following criteria:
Educational value and learning points: 30%
Technical innovation: 25%
Clinical utility: 20%
Video quality and clarity: 15%
Overall performance: 10
IX. Awards and Presentation
Awards
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards will be presented.
Additional honorable mentions may be awarded at the committee’s discretion.
Presentation and Publication
Award-winning videos will be presented at the Society’s Annual Meeting and may be published on the DEST official website or educational platforms, with author consent.
X. Miscellaneous
The Digestive Endoscopy Society of Taiwan reserves the right to amend these rules and retains final authority for interpretation.
Submission of a video implies consent for the Society to use the content for non-profit educational purposes.
